Introduce Your Main Character Blog Hop: Jo from GUIDED

This is exciting, my first hop as an author! EEK. Okay, play it cool Danielle. I was invited by the very awesome Helen Boswell to participate in this blog hop where you introduce one of your main characters and answer some questions about them. Thanks Helen, I am truly honored to be invited!  Make sure you stop by her site and check out her YA series and her character Jonathan.

In Guided I really have two main characters. Jo Hannigan and Jasper Chase, but since Jo is the first character you meet in my book I figured I would focus on her.

Now on to the questions....
1. What is the name of your main character? Is she fictional or a historic person? Jo is completely fictional. Though if you ask people who know me they will say that she's me. Ha!

2. When and where is the story set? Guided is set in the modern day, but I'm not going to tell you where exactly. I really want the reader to envision the location wherever they imagine it. It very well could be your backyard. Well that's the hope anyway.

3. What should we know about her? Oh gosh. That's a tough question. Jo is your typical teenager. She's not the prettiest, most popular, or most talented. She's just trying to survive high school when her world is turned on its head. She becomes lost in a world full of lies and magic. One that puts her in the spotlight and that takes a little getting used to. Jo struggles, but is a fighter and in the end would kill or die to save those she loves.

4. What is the main conflict? What messes up her life? For Jo, the real question is what doesn't mess up her life. Just kidding. Magic really is at the root of all of Jo's conflict. Everything that happens to her is because of magic that she didn't know existed. But once that little secret is revealed her entire world is thrown into turmoil and she has to figure out how to navigate the bumpy and dangerous waters. Not easy for a girl who is just trying to survive.

5. What is her personal goal? To keep her friends, family, and herself alive long enough to understand how to use her magic. Well there's something else too, but I can't tell you because that would spoil the story.

6. Is there a working title for this novel, and can we read more about it? The title is Guided, it is book 1 in The Jade Ring Series and yes you can read more about it. Check it out on Goodreads and pick it up for FREE on Amazon until the 24th of July and 99c everyday!

7. When can we expect the books to be published? Guided is already published, but I have started work on book 2 Deceived and hope to have that published, well eventually!

Thanks again for inviting me to this awesome hop Helen! This was a lot of fun and harder than I thought!

Check out these other posts from the blog hop:

Author Helen Boswell introduces her character Jonathan Draper from her book 3 in The Mythology Series: The Eternal. This series is amazing and gives you a great look at the battle between light and dark. I highly highly recommend this series! And guess what book 1 MYTHOLOGY is only 99c on Amazon

Author Skye Malone introduces her character Chloe Kowalski from her novel Awaken. If you enjoy YA paranormal, this is a great read that's currently for sale for 99 cents on Amazon. Highly recommended!

Author Elsie Elmore introduces her character Eric from her upcoming debut release The Undead: Playing for Keeps. This looks like a great read, and if you want to check it out further, you can read about it onGoodreads.
