My Review

Olivia and Joshua are still on the run from the government of Cabal, living life as a strategic members of the rebel alliance. Since arriving in Shadow, Joshua and Olivia and have been training and readying to bring down the Cabal government.

Since escaping to the small town of Shadow Joshua and Olivia's life has been anything but their own. Forced to live by a strict training schedule living in Shadow is not all that different from living in Genesis. There are rules, there is a government and the residents don't have much of a say in how things are run.

Life in Shadow is a little slow, with nothing but training and planning to do Olivia itches for some action and jumps at every chance to leave town, and in Moirai there are definitely a few chances to leave. As things heat up and Olivia and Joshua are right in the thick of it, both playing vital roles in the major plot events that play out in Moirai.

This review is a little hard to write for me, there is not much that I can actually talk about without giving away major plot points and where would the fun be in that? But there are a few things I can tell you. I can tell you that Moirai is a good story. Good but not great. Where Aberrant was fast paced, Moirai was slow in action and focused more on the day to day musings of Shadow's residents. The action and excitement didn't really happen until the very end, which left me more than a little disappointed. There was a large portion of the book that I felt was a little useless, meaning it didn't really add anything to the story, it felt like it was just a filler.

But Joshua and Olivia were great as always. Both were well rounded characters that were absolutely fantastic together. I loved their dynamic and want those two together more than anything. Olivia is strong willed, independent and refuses to back down from a fight or stand on the side lines. Joshua is both gentle and fierce, fully capable of being a teddy bear that can also rip your heart out. And then you have the pretty cool abilities they both have from the mindonsiphan. Abilities that they have to keep secret from the world beyond Shadow's gates. Abilities that any government would kill for.

Moirai is a good story that will leave you satisfied and maybe a little disappointed, but it is still a story that you will enjoy. It definitely has it's moments of greatness, I just wish they didn't come so late in the book. If you have read Aberrant then I definitely think you should read this book. Moirai really helps tie up a lot of loose ends in Aberrant so it is a must for any fan who likes a little closure.

  1. Sounds interesting. But the title kinda threw me off... Being the huge mythology fan that I am, I thought it was had to do with the Moirai AKA the Fates if Greek mythology, lol

    1. If you enjoy Dysopian or Sci-Fi books then you should definitely give this series a try. And I can definitely see how the title could throw you off, especially if you haven't read the first book in the series. :)
