Free eRead-A-Thon #1 Welcome

Hello all you fabulous readers and welcome to the very first Free eRead-a-thon, yes we hope there will be more of these, so help us make this first one a success! This lovely read-a-thon was created by Danielle @ Consuming Worlds with the great inspiration and gentle pushing of author Nikki Jefford, yes this was completely her idea, I just ran with it. And with the help of co-host Jessica @ Literary, etc this idea is coming to fruition!

What is the Free eRead-a-thon you ask? I am so glad you asked that. Allow me to explain. As bloggers and readers we are always on the hunt for a deal, picking up those fabulous reads that we hear are FREE, but alas, they sit on our readers, sad and unread. Usually pushed to the side for something else that demands our attention.

Well no more! Because that's what this read-a-thon is all about! Finally reading those FREE books that you downloaded all those moons ago.

But Danielle and Jessica, I don't have any FREE reads currently on my reader, can I still participate? Well of course you can! All you have to do is download any of the numerous FREE books you can find out there. Here is a link to a few: Current Free eReads

Just who can participate: Everyone, anyone! We welcome all readers and lovers of books. If you don't have a blog then you can just post your updates on Facebook or even your Goodreads page.

When is the event? The event will run for one week from Sunday, at Midnight, August 11th through Saturday August 17th at 11:59 p.m. in whatever timezone you are in.

Now we want this to be as low pressure as possible. The goal of this is to go at your own pace and read what you can handle and what you want. Even if that is only a few pages a day, progress is progress.

Like most read-a-thon's there of course will be challenges, 3 to be exact, with prizes! There will also be a Grand Prize that all participants are automatically entered into, just by linking up on the first day! (More info to come).

We also hope to have 2 Twitter chats. But that shouldn't stop you from chatting it up with fellow readers and book lovers. After all one of the best parts of participating in a read-a-thon is getting to know fellow book lovers! We encourage you to share your reading progress and all your Free eRead-a-thon thoughts with the hashtag #FreeERead this way all participants can see your tweets, making it easier for communication and sharing!

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me here at the blog or you can reach me through twitter @y311er anytime. You can also reach Jessica through her blog and through twitter @literaryetc

Look for more information and sign-up posts coming soon.
